STALLMAN

PLAINS TWP. — Paul Stallman, of Plains Township, passed away Dec. 2, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Surviving is his wife of 16 years, the former Celeste Janick. He had family in Tunkhannock. Funeral services were held Dec. 4 at the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment with military honors was held Dec. 6 at Maple Hill Cemetery, 68 E. St. Mary’s Road, Hanover Township.

WARD

DALLAS — Naomi L. Ward, 75, of Dallas, passed away Nov. 29, 2014, at her residence. Memorial service was held Dec. 6 in the Dallas United Methodist Church, Dallas. Arrangements were under the direction of the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas.

HOEGEN

KINGSTON TWP. — Peter J. Hoegen, 77, of Kingston Township, died Dec. 3, 2014, at the home of his daughter, Katie Arensmeyer, in Kingston. He and his wife, the former Maureen McGovern of Jermyn were married on June 17, 1961, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary prior to her death on Sept. 26, 2011. Celebration of life was held Dec. 5 at McLaughlin’s, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 6 in the Church of Immaculate Conception, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston.

KOCHER

DALLAS — Lois Carolyn Kocher, 83, formerly of Sweet Valley, passed away Dec. 4, 2014, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Derwood Kocher. Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.

GIVENS

TAYLOR — Iris Givens, 97, formerly of Dallas and a guest at Riverside Rehab & Nursing Center, Taylor, died Dec. 2, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Givens, in 1950. Funeral service was held Dec. 6 from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township.

RICCI

NANTICOKE — Donald N. Ricci, 65, of Nanticoke, passed away Dec. 3, 2014, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township. He is survived by his lifelong partner, Annette Bodine. He had family in Dallas. Private funeral arrangements were by Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 173 E. Green St., Nanticoke.

SWEET VALLEY — Donald Samuel Rosencrans, 83, of Sweet Valley, passed away Dec. 5, 2014, at home. Donald is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Dorothy Shaw. Funeral services were held Dec. 9 from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek.

NOXEN — Angela Miles, 38, of Noxen, passed away peacefully Dec. 5, 2014, at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Eric. She had family in Harveys Lake. Funeral services were held Dec. 10 from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake.

PHILADELPHIA — Medical Mission Sister Mary Gavin, 79, died Nov. 29, 2014, in Philadelphia. She had family in Dallas. A funeral Mass was held Dec. 11 in the Medical Missionary Sisters Chapel.

SWEET VALLEY — Elizabeth H. Andrews, 91, of Main Road, Sweet Valley, passed away on Dec. 6, 2014, at the Berwick Hospital Center. Funeral services were held Dec. 13 from the Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny.

KOVAL

HARVEYS LAKE — Regina A. “Jean” Koval, 86, formerly of Edwardsville, died peacefully on Dec. 8, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Koval. Funeral was Dec. 12 from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church.

MULHERN

DALLAS — Sister Cor Mariae Mulhern, RSM, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community of the Sisters of Mercy, died at Mercy Center on Dec. 9, 2014. The celebration of her life will begin with a prayer service at 9 a.m. Monday in Mercy Center Chapel Dallas, followed by visiting hours until 10:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
