Head Start plans open recruitment

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. will hold open recruitment from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, RR 4, Dallas, for children living in the Dallas and Lehman-Jackson areas.

Senior Lock-In rummage sale set

The Dallas High School Senior Lock-In Committee will hold its third annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 11 at the Dallas Middle School.

There will be a variety of items, ranging from jewelry, clothing, toys, books, household items, antiques, collectibles and appliances.

Students will perform at Seminary

The Wyoming Seminary Music Department will present a special performance by members of the Bratislava State Conservatory of Music, Slovakia, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 in the Great Hall of Wyoming Seminary, 228 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, just north of Kingston Corners.

The concert, titled “An Evening At The Opera And More,” will feature a 12-year-old violinist and four student singers, performing popular works of opera.

Craft show slated

The Tunkhannock Area Middle School Band will host a craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 at the middle school.

Movie presented at Misericordia

The Misericordia University Student Activities Department will present “New Year’s Eve” as part of its Movie Nights at Misericordia film series at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26 in Lemmond Theater at Walsh Hall.

Admission is $1 for Misericordia students with proper identification and $3 for the general public.

Seminary presents Music Festival

The Wyoming Seminary Music Department will present a Shostakovich Chamber Music Festival featuring the music of Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 and Sat 3 p.m. Sunday, April 1 in the Great Hall of Wyoming Seminary, 228 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, just north of Kingston Corners.

The concerts will include instrumental and vocal works and will feature professional and student performers.

The festival is free and open to the public. For more information, call 270-2192.

Craft show set

The Lake-Lehman Band will hold its spring craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 at the Lake-Lehman Junior/Senior High School, Old Route 115, Dallas. Parking and admission are free.

There will be handcrafted items for the home and garden, Easter candy and fudge, handcrafted silver and beaded jewelry, matted pictures, candles, pottery, wood crafts and much more.

The school cafeteria will offer hot lunch items and homemade baked goods. There will also be a Chinese auction.

LL Lock-In Committee plans rummage sale

The Lake Lehman Last Knight Lock-In Committee will hold its first-ever rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at the Lake-Lehman High School.

Set up begins at 7 a.m. Cost is $10 for a 10×10 indoor space. Checks should be made payable to Lake-Lehman Last Knight and mailed to Lake-Lehman School District, P.O. Box 38, Lehman, PA 18627.
