David Wunsch and Kate Lawler, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Regional representatives to South America, visited St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dallas on February 4. Their visit included worship, a supper and a presentation of their missionary work in South America.
St. Paul’s Church, a congregation of the Northeastern Pa Synod of the ELCA, has a companion congregation, San Timoteo, La Plata, Argentina, and supports Wunsch and Lawler.
Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the missionaries serve as a bridge between the ELCA and companion churches in Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile.
Rev. Charles Grube, pastor at St. Paul’s, along with young adult leader, Hannah Grube, and youth member, Adam O’Brien, were selected as participants in a July 2011 youth servant trip to Argentina sponsored by the Northeastern PA Synod where they visited congregations of the greater Buenos Aires area served by the missionaries.
Wunsch and Lawler returned to the United States for a Home Assignment in January and February to visit supporting congregations and agencies, including St. Paul’s Church.
