Cantolao USA U-15 Girls Premiere Soccer team took first place in Lanco Fieldhouse’s U-18 pre-indoor cup tournament in East Petersburg on December 30.

In the first of four games, Josie Zapotosky had an unassisted goal, followed by Olivia Termini scoring on an assist from Emily Schramm, with PUSA Extreme scoring only one goal.

In the second shut-out game against Abunchofgirlz, Olivia Termini scored on a direct and headed in a corner kick from Bethany Carpenter, Zapotosky scored on an assist from Gabby Termini and Gabby Termini scored unassisted and scored again on an assist from Kalie Onukiavage, with a final score of 5-0.

In the third game against Penn Legacy 96, also a shut-out, Schramm scored unassisted, Gabby Termini scored unassisted and on an assist from Schramm. Olivia Termini scored on an assist from Olivia Gregorio and again on an assist from Emily Schramm, giving a final score of 5-0.

In the fourth and final game, Gabby Termini scored unassisted and again on an assist from her sister, Olivia, Schramm scored on an assist from Gabby Termini, Kalie Onukiavage scored unassisted and again on an assist from Schramm and Abby Wolfgang scored on an assist from Bethany Carpenter. Cantolao received another goal on a goalkeeper error, with a final win of 7-2.

The girls earned the first-place position, despite playing up three years, to prepare them for the upcoming Indoor Cup Tournament.

The team, based out of Mountain Top and composed of girls from throughout Luzerne County, is coached by Hubert Herrera, Eric Wolfgang and Darryl Emershaw.
