Penn State Master Gardeners of Luzerne County will present Spring into Gardening at the Technology Center of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Campus in Lehman on Saturday, April 28.
This day-long event features workshops on vegetable gardening, ground covers, pesticides, pruning, pollinators, gardening with children, and more.
Paul Epsom, well-known for his gardening segments on PBS’s “The Victory Garden” and WNEP’s “Home and Backyard,” will be keynote speaker. He brings both teaching experience and a sense of humor to his gardening presentation, “How I’m Creating My ‘E’ Garden: One that is Effortless, Environmental, Enabled, Edible and Extraordinary.”
Each participant will be able to choose four workshops to attend as well as the keynote address.
In addition to the workshops, a plant sale and flea market will operate all day and Master Gardeners will be available at the information table to answer personal gardening questions.
Seating is limited and early registration is encouraged. The registration fee is $30 and must be received by April 22. The registration fee includes morning refreshments, lunch and educational handouts.
