Metz Culinary Management, a local provider of dining management services, has partnered with the Culinary Institute of America, local Pennsylvania schools and several business clients to provide students with paid internship and externship opportunities.

Metz clients Blue Cross, J. M. Smucker Company and Wyoming Seminary have been approved by the Culinary Institute of America for 18-week paid externships. In addition to pay, students will receive academic credits and a letter grade for their performance.

Offered exclusively to Culinary Institute of America students, externship opportunities allow trainees to develop their cooking or baking skills and knowledge they have acquired during their initial 30 weeks of instruction.

Metz Culinary Management is also collaborating with Wilkes-Barre Area Career & Technical Center and Penn College to provide students with paid culinary internships that will allow them to excel in their respective fields.

The internships will cover all aspects of hospitality, from food preparation to guest service. Metz will also create presentations, field trips and dining experiences for students to expose them to all facets of the industry.

Internship and externship opportunities will begin in June 2012.
