The Second Annual Filipino Cultural Day, featuring the best of Filipino cuisine and culture, was held July 19 at the New Life Community Church, Twin Stacks Center, North Memorial Highway, Dallas.
Gideo Gaitano, pastor of New Life, and his wife, Robin, coordinated the event.
Gaitano is formerly of the Phillipines. Following the untimely death of his first wife, he came to the United States 20 years ago to study filmmaking at Regent University in Virginia. While there, he met his current wife, Robin, daughter of Glenna Dymond Rozelle, of Dallas.
The Filipino Cultural Day featured a Filipino meal, including Chicken Adobo, Pancit and Halo-halo prepared by many of the New Life Church attendees, some of whom are Filipino-Americans.
Cultural activities, including dances, games and music followed the meal.
