American Legion Post 672 is planning annual Memorial Day parade for Monday

Daddow-Isaacs Dallas American Legion Post 672 will conduct its annual Memorial Day Parade at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 25.

The parade will begin at the Veterans Memorial in the center of Dallas and continue to Woodlawn Cemetery and Chapel Lawn Cemetery for Memorial Day services.

The Dallas High School Band, Scouts, American Legion baseball team, Little League, service organizations and the Legion Riders will be led by the Legion Honor Guard and dignitaries.

Guest speaker will be retired Brigadier General Kip Nygren, president of Wyoming Seminary. Nygren received a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, a doctoral degree in Religion and Culture from the Catholic University of America, a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary and an Engineering degree from West Point.

He was a professor and head of the Civil Engineering Department at the U. S. Military Academy.

He had armor and aviation assignments in Europe, Korea and the United States and has done extensive research on emerging technologies and exponential changes in the military.
