Roxanne Popple, daughter of Anthony and Nancy Popple, of Shavertown, recently competed in the 2009 Regional Gymnastics Meet in Allentown.
A senior at Dallas High School and a level 9 gymnast, Popple won first place on the floor exercise with a score of 9.2. She also took third on vault (9.2) and fifth overall with a score of 35.75 in the 18-year-old age group.
With her performance, she advanced to the 2009 Junior Olympics/Nationals and was named to the National/Junior Olympic Team. The competition will take place in Mississippi on May 10.
