HARVEYS LAKE – Republican Chris Hackett conceded defeat to incumbent Democrat U.S. Rep. in the race for the 10th Congressional District at about 9:40 p.m.
Hackett acknowledged he made some mistakes in his campaign. He told his supporters he and they should learn from them and work to move forward a conservative agenda despite the apparent loss at the polls.
As of 10 p.m., Carney had garnered nearly 60 percent of the votes in the 14 counties he represents, according to unofficial election results.
