Box, Danko receive ROTC scholarships

Christopher A. Box, of Shavertown, and Eric D. Danko, of Dallas, recently received Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) scholarships to attend college this fall.

Box is attending the University of Pittsburgh and Danko is attending Penn State University main campus. Both AFROTC cadets are studying Mechanical Engineering.

Approximately 10,000 high school seniors applied for AFROTC scholarships from across the U.S. and awards are very selective. Upon graduation and completion of AFROTC requirements, Box and Danko will each receive a commission as an Air Force Second Lieutenant.

Box is the son of Jeffrey and Maire Box and the grandson of Kenneth Box and the late Jean Harder Box of Honesdale and Hillar and Hella Anton of Houston, Texas. He has a sister, Adrienne.

Danko is the son of Ronald and Debra Danko and the grandson of Frank and Alice Mazzanti of Bear Creek and the late John and Elizabeth Danko of Plains. He also has a sister, Lindsey.

Box and Danko are 2008 graduates of Dallas High School.
