LIUM Church has busy schedule for October

The Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church coming events for the month of October are:

Sunday School services for pre-school to adult are held at 9:30 am. There is now a junior and senior high school group. Sunday Worship services are 10:30 am.

World Communion Sunday will be observed today, Oct. 5, and a special offering will be taken.

The Administrative Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The United Methodist Women will hold their Fall Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct.10, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 11. The women will offer lunch, a bake sale and soup sale. Cost of the soup will be $4.50 a quart. Saturday will be Bag Day. Slightly used rummage may be dropped off at the church.

The Couples Club will hold its regular monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 18. Hostesses are Dick and Lois Ide.

The United Methodist Women Wilkes-Barre District Fall Meeting will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Tunkhannock United Methodist Church. Reservations may be made with Dorothy Dawe or Linda VanGorder.

The October monthly pastie sale will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23. Cost of the pasties is $5 and orders are to be given to Willis Ide at 639-5100 or Linda VanGorder at 477-5219 by Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The regular UMW monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the church. The program will be the Red Bird Mission Report. Election of officers for the year 2009 will be held. The Sunshine Committee will prepare Thanksgiving baskets for the shut-ins. Hostesses will be Jayne Haefele and Shirley Weidner.
