Mark A. Brandon, 48, was sentenced Tuesday to nine t0 18 months in prison, followed by two years probation, for the September 2007 incident.
According to police, Brandon approached a 44-year-old woman who was washing her car at a car wash on state Route 118 on Sept. 7. He pulled a knife on her and then forced her into another car wash bay and into his truck. As the woman struggled to get free, Brandon lost his grip on the knife. The woman fled his truck and screamed for help.
Brandon sped away in his truck, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado that was seized by police. He was arrested Sept. 11 after several witnesses and surveillance video from a grocery store on Route 118 identified him, police said.
Brandon was captured at a relative’s home on November 16 in El Paso County, Colorado. He was sentenced by Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas Judge Michael Conahan.
