PLAINS TWP. – A Dallas man was charged earlier today in connection to a fatal hit and run crash in Laflin in October.

Austin Jacob Knight, 19, of Huntsville Road, was charged with accidents involving death or personal injury, accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, driving under suspension, duty to give information or render aid, required financial responsibility and careless driving. He was arraigned by District Judge Diana Malast in Plains Township and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Police allege in arrest records that Knight was the driver of a 1994 Ford Ranger pick-up truck that struck 87-year old Raymond Falcone, on Laflin Road on Oct. 20.

Falcone died from his injuries.

Knight sped away and traveled back to his place of employment on Laflin Road where his supervisor contacted police, according to arrest records.

Knight admitted to police, the arrest records say, that he struck a person while driving on Laflin Road.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 13 in Central Court.
