DALLAS TWP. — Misericordia University is giving senior citizens an opportunity to learn how to prevent falls in and out of the home with nine free workshops starting in September.

The workshops, sponsored by the University’s Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy departments, will teach participants how to identify potential fall hazards, provided an individualize exercise program, plus, vision, balance and blood pressure screenings.

The program will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 22, 29, Oct. 6, 20, 27, Nov. 3, 10, 17 and Dec. 1 at John J. Passan Hall, in the College of Health Sciences and Education, 100 Lake St., Dallas.

The workshops are open to people 65 years old or older and living independently.
