This year, in lieu of exchanging Christmas presents, the fifth grade students at Lehman-Jackson Elementary School collected items for Shoemaker HUB in Wyoming. HUB has two functions: The first is to provide free furniture and household goods to those in need, and the second is to assemble and distribute disaster and relief kits to those in need. Students collected hygiene products, school supplies and gently used backpacks to donate to the HUB. Shoemaker HUB Director, Kristy Lyons accepted the donations on behalf of the organization and spoke to the children about the organization’s purpose and mission. The following teachers organized this charity drive: Jennifer Welby, Jennifer Loftus and Kristin Gannon.
