DALLAS TWP. — The Back Mountain Chamber, in a continuing effort to serve the business and residential communities of the Back Mountain, encourages its members and their friends to participate in the “Making the Back Mountain Brighter Energy Reduction Program,” a partnership between the chamber and UGI Electric.

The main objective of the program is to encourage electric users to reduce electric demand in the Back Mountain region, while saving money on their utility bills.

According to Jim Reino, president of the Back Mountain Chamber, this program provides residents the opportunity to purchase LED lightbulbs, from local vendors, at reduced prices, and replace their less efficient incandescent lights bulbs. These high efficiency LED light bulbs last significantly longer, and have lower energy costs than incandescent bulbs.

Various wattage and shaped bulbs are available. UGI Electric offers point of sale discounts on LED bulbs at the following locations: Family Dollar Stores in Luzerne, Gerrity’s Markets in Luzerne, Luzerne Lumber in Luzerne, Ace Hardware in Hunlock Creek, Mountain Fresh Markets in Hunlock Creek, and Lowes in Edwardsville. For a complete listing of participating retailers, visit www.ugi.com/savesmart; or email UGI at savesmart@ugi.com.
