LEHMAN TWP. — Approximately 20 Penn State Wilkes-Barre students attended THON weekend including the campus’ two dancers: Mary Wychock and Matthew Domasiewicz.

The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON, is a yearlong effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer, and is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $127 million for Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

THON 2016 took place Feb. 19-21 at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center. Penn State Wilkes-Barre has raised funds for THON through various campus activities including a pasta dinner, penny wars, canning weekend, and several fundraisers at local restaurants.
