DALLAS TWP. — AutoZone in Dallas opened Saturday, March 26.

The nationwide chain, a leading retailer in after-market auto parts and accessories, opened its newest regional location at 2349 Memorial Highway.

The Back Mountain business will employ up to 10 full- and part-time employees. AutoZone will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The store’s phone number is 570-255-1003.

The company first started in Forrest City, Arkansas, in 1979 and was named Auto Shack, according to AutoZone’s website.

Today, AutoZone is based in Memphis, Tennessee, and has over 5,600 stores in the United States, including the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, Mexico and Brazil.

There are 150 stores in Pennsylvania, including two locations in Scranton, two in Wilkes-Barre, Kingston, Pittston, Tunkhannock, Hazleton and a distribution center in Hazle Township.
