KINGSTON – Four members of the Wyoming Seminary Rowing Club recently competed in the Manny Flick/Horvat Series Invitational Regatta held on the Schuylkill River at Boat House Row, Philadelphia, taking first place in one race.

Club members Matthew Bean of Moosic and Scott Lynett of Shavertown competed in the Novices Junior Double race, winning their heat by two seconds and finishing with the fastest time in the race, defeating 11 other boats.

Garrett Pall of Dallas and Julius Guisetti of Berlin, Germany competed in the Varsity Men’s Double race, winning their heat by 26 seconds and finishing in seventh place out of 20 boats.

The Manny Flick Regatta, hosted by the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association, included 79 high school teams with more than 550 boats and more than 1,750 rowers, coming from the Philadelphia area and several states. Sem’s rowing club first began competition in fall, 2015 and this was the team’s first spring competition.
