DALLAS BOROUGH — After nearly five years of serving as a borough administrative assistant, Karen Fiorello resigned, and a replacement was named at a council meeting Wednesday.

Ellen Federici will now assist Dallas Borough Manager Tracey Carr in helping residents who are seeking services or information from the municipal office.

Council members approved Federici for the part-time position at an hourly rate of $12.50 for 25 hours per week, pending the receipt of an acceptable criminal history background check, child abuse history clearance, and a Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare FBI Fingerprint Clearance.

Federici is not the only new face residents will see.

Council members hired Merrit Nash as a part-time borough police officer at an hourly rate of $15.03 following a probationary period and pending background investigation, driver’s history reports, accreditation review, required certifications and pre-employment testing.
