At a recent Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 15 meeting, Robert G. Vanderhook, of Dallas, was presented with an award recognizing his dedication and exceptional leadership in melding units from three divisions into a newly established Division 15 — Northern Lakes. Vanderhook’s expertise and leadership skills were put to the test in melding these diverse units into a cohesive operation. He established a training session for all of the division’s units on Lake Hopatcong during which a variety of skill sets were tested and techniques were modified thus ensuring that under his leadership Division 15’s capabilities and response were standardized. He has been a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary since Oct. 19, 2006. He is a member of Flotilla 15-03 Wilkes-Barre which meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the McGowan Building of King’s College.
