DALLAS TWP. — St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will host its annual St. Paul’s Summer Fest, to be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23 on the church grounds, 474 Yalick Road, off Route 118.
This year’s event will feature the Third Annual “Laps of Love” Cancer Walk with proceeds benefiting the Healing Garden at the Henry Center of Geisinger Wyoming Valley and the purchase of new IV pumps at the center. Walkers may register at 9:45 a.m. with the walk from 10 a.m. to noon. In case of rain, the walk will be held Sunday, July 24.
In addition, the Summer Fest will host a blood drive in honor of Andrew Schukraft, a member of the St. Paul’s congregation who recently underwent a kidney transplant. Popular area musicians Jessie and Friends will perform from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Hi-Lites Motor Club will present its classic car display from noon to 3 p.m., with as many as 60 vehicles to examine.
Other Summer Fest attractions include opportunities to adopt a new pet from the Luzerne County SPCA, a display of model trains by the Back Mountain Railroad Club, and the Shavertown Fire Company’s Smokehouse. Arts and crafts vendors, flea market vendors, A “Christmas in July” vendor, a silent auction with themed baskets, bake sale, plant sale, a visit from the Dallas Township Police Department’s new canine officer, and picnic food will also be featured.
