DALLAS TWP. — Williams Companies announced maintenance and “blow down” scheduled for the Transco Natural Gas Pipeline July 23-25.

The owner of the Transco Pipeline will have crews performing maintenance July 23-24 at the metering station off Hildebrandt Road, near the Dallas High School in Dallas Township.

A re-compression practice will be implemented which will not require a gas release eliminating the smell of natural gas or related sounds.

“The only sound to be heard should be that of an engine running,” according to the news release.

Williams will conduct a “blow down” at the City Gate Station on Route 415 near Noon’s Gas Station in Dallas Township on July 25.

A “blow down” occurs when work crews release natural gas from a section of pipeline so maintenance work can be completed. Crews will utilize the re-compression practice in this location as well.
