DALLAS — Stop by and visit the Back Mountain Memorial Library Farmers Market held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 29 at the Dallas Elementary School. The market features fresh produce that will help when making summer recipes. And check out the latest summer cookbooks available now at the library.

The children’s theater group, “Take the Stage,” will perform “A Mother Goose Comedy” beginning at 6 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 20. Tickets for this performance, which will be held on the library grounds, are $3 for children under age 10 and $5 for adults and may be purchased at the time of the event.

Attention summer reading participants: The final party for all summer reading participants will be held on the library grounds on Thursday, Aug. 11.

Beginning at 11 a.m., children that have participated in the library’s summer reading program will pick out a book, make crafts, play games and complete physical activities and then receive a balloon creation from TJ with Jubilee Balloons. Refreshments will be served and parent prizes and survey prizes will be awarded.

Parents are asked to use sunscreen for their children, bring a blanket and park on the grass area to the right of the library.

Readers and Read-to-Me Children may begin showing their reading logs to Mrs. Bauman, children’s librarian, beginning the first week of August to receive their final prizes.
