DALLAS — Active Adult Centers sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming Counties offer hot noon meals Monday through Friday to people 60 years of age or older. A $2 meal donation is gratefully accepted. The monies are needed in order to expand this program.

The following is the menu for the week of Aug. 8:

MONDAY: Beef stew with potatoes and carrots, Brussels sprouts, buttered noodles, chocolate brownie, milk and coffee.

TUESDAY: “Lighter Fare” to Go – Egg salad on whole wheat sandwich roll with lettuce and tomato, pickled beet salad, mandarin oranges, milk and coffee.

WEDNESDAY: Swiss steak, dilled carrots, mashed potatoes, whole wheat dinner roll, rice krispie treat, milk and coffee.

THURSDAY: Hawaiian Day: Pork with sweet and sour sauce, pineapple fried rice, Pacific blend vegetables, coconut cake, milk and coffee.

FRIDAY: Baked fish with parsley and butter, stewed tomatoes and broccoli, macaroni and cheese, Rocky Road pudding, milk and coffee.
