KINGSTON TWP. — Supervisors scheduled a session to work on the 2017 municipal budget and announced changes to the composting site hours at the Oct. 12 meeting.
Kingston Township Supervisors will hold public work sessions at 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 26 and 27 at the municipal building to develop the 2017 preliminary budget.
The final vote on the proposed budget will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the municipal building.
At this meeting, supervisors will also approve an ordinance regarding real estate tax and earned income tax percentages.
Also on the Nov. 9 agenda will be a discussion on the 2017-2021 Capital Program, which is used to plan out larger projects or purchases, Karen Rose, the assistant township manager said.
In other news, supervisors approved a change to the hours for the municipal composting site located next to the public works building above Center Street Park on East Center Street in Shavertown.
The composting site will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31 to Sunday, Nov. 13. The site will close for the season beginning Monday, Nov. 14.
Supervisors approved the following community-wide events:
• Fall leaf pickup set for Nov. 14-30
• A Trunk-or-Treat event to be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, in the parking lot of Center Street Park on East Center Street in Shavertown.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the township building.
