CLARKS SUMMIT — Allied Services Integrated Health System recognized six of its employees at an annual awards ceremony held in the Graf Community Room at the Luger Rehab Center in Scranton, including two employees from the Back Mountain.

The Charles Luger Memorial Employee Award recognizes an employee or employees for their outstanding commitment and dedication to Allied Services and their embodiment of the organization’s ideals and mission. Among those receiving awards were the following Back Mountain residents:

John Niznick

John Niznick, of Harveys Lake, joined Allied Services in 1978 and in the intervening years has become a integral and treasured part of the outpatient physical therapy department at Allied Services.

Niznick is known by colleagues and patients for his endless pursuit of knowledge and selfless mentorship. He studies widely, acquiring hundreds of therapeutic tools for the benefit of his patients.

Niznick mentors students from local and regional colleges.

Kristina Dorkoski

A 14-year employee of Allied Services, Kristina Dorkoski, of Dallas, is an outpatient physical therapist specializing in neurological and geriatric rehabilitation at Heinz Rehab Center in Wilkes-Barre.

She is certified in LSVT Big and Loud and PWR!Moves, two cutting-edge protocols developed for the benefit of individuals with Parkinson’s. Dorkoski is known by her colleagues and patients to exemplify excellence in rehabilitation, constantly striving to expand her knowledge, disseminate best practice and educate patients and community members about advancements in neurological rehabilitation.

In addition to her work at Allied Services, Dorkoski is an adjunct faculty member in the Physical Therapy department at Misercordia University, where she instructs neuroscience labs and a special practices course she created on the use of Pilates and medical therapeutic yoga in rehabilitation.
