MONROE TWP. — A natural gas release at the Chapin Dehydration facility near Beaumont is part of a two-day maintenance procedure.

Tuesday and Wednesday residents near the Chapin facility will experience venting a “non-odorized” gas and “periods of loud noise,” according to an email received by Dallas Township Supervisor Elizabeth Martin.

The Chapin Dehydration facility is a natural gas processing plant off Route 309 near the border of Luzerne and Wyoming counties. Regency Energy Partners, a Texas-based firm, owns the facility.

Calls to Regency Energy Partners were not returned before deadline.
