High school students who have completed their junior year and reside in Pennsylvania are eligible. Cost is free to student citizens as long as an American Legion Post pays the tuition of $175.

The students develop a working understanding of state and local government. Political parties are formed, county and state conventions are convened and each student becomes a “proactive citizen.”

Aspirants to city, county and state offices file for a position and campaign for it and utilize their respective political parties. Boys State is highly valued on college applications and can lead to earning three college credits. The students have promised to give a report of their week to Post 672 at its conclusion.
