LEHMAN TWP. — Finding services for children can be a tough job, according to Back Mountain mother and entrepreneur Amanda Faneck.

Faneck, who owns G+ME Children’s Yoga & Boutique in Dallas, set her sights to help parents and caregivers find the services and activities they need for their children with the first-ever NEPA Kids Expo.

“As a parent, it is hard to know about the different services (for children) available in the area,” Faneck said.

The free admission event, which will showcase the variety of child-related services such as extra-curricular activities, birthday party services and much more, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the Luzerne County Fairgrounds off Route 118.

The event slated for the day before Mother’s Day is also designed to celebrate moms, Faneck said.

Moms can pamper themselves with a free Continental breakfast to be served by the Prehistoric Chef from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. while supplies last, she said. A Shavertown-based business, the Prehistoric Chef provides healthy prepared dinners for purchase, Faneck said.

“There are several craft vendors for shopping,” she said.

Other expo vendors include:

• Kandice Bross Photography

• Twin Stacks Golf Center

• Jubilee Balloons

• Zen Barre, a yoga studio

• Pure Haven Essentials

• Rodan and Fields skin care products

• Families United Network Inc.

• Will Love Stella Sweets

• The Brace Place

• Quinn Mariotti & Abod Orthodontics

• The Beekeepers Daughter

• NEPA Mixed Martial Arts

• Camp Orchard Hill

• Luzerne County Child Advocacy Center

• Maaa’s Handmade Goat Milk Soap

• Greater Wilkes-Barre YMCA

• Pediatric Associates

• The Happy Mama Place

• Mary Caserta Baker – a children’s storyteller and musician.

The Frozen Cow will provide ice cream and Taste Time To Love Us food truck will offer a lunch menu featuring items such as Philly cheesesteaks, sausage and peppers subs and fresh-cut fries.

Faneck said vendors have until the end of the month to register for a space at the expo, she said.

Interested businesses may register at gplustmekids@gmail.com or visit www.gplusmekids.com for information.

The first 100 guests will receive a free tote bag containing donated goodies from vendors, Faneck said.

A variety of kid-friendly activities will entertain both caregivers and children at the expo.

“Camp Orchard Hill is going to bring some games,” Faneck said and added there will also be face painting, balloon creations and much more for the children.

Mom and her kiddos can have their photos taken by Kandice Bross Photography for $5, Faneck said.

“We are very excited for this event, and we really hope that families from across NEPA will join us for a day full of fun and most importantly to celebrate our moms and all the hard work they do,” Faneck said in a news release.
