DALLAS: The Dallas Baptist Church, Briarcrest and Memorial Highway, Harveys Lake, (next to the Idetown Fire Station), is planning some great community outreach events this fall – we are calling it “A Back Mountain Christmas.” Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place at the church.

There will be a prayer walk on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in the community to meet people and identify the needs among our neighbors.

A food bank drive will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 11, to benefit the Noxen Pastor’s Food Pantry. Baking and big meal items, along with any non-perishable items will be accepted. Paper and cleaning products are also very much appreciated. Items may be dropped off at the church between 6-8 p.m., or e-mail deaconsofDBC@gmail.com to arrange a pick-up.

New or gently used books for children of all ages, including teens, will be collected from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for Christmas gifts for children in our community. Contact deaconsofDBC@gmail.com to arrange a pick-up.

A Christmas gift wrapping party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Bring your gifts and we will wrap them while you wait. There is no charge and anyone is welcome to participate.
