Misericordia University Vice President Susan Helwig recently announced the following new appointments in the Division of University Advancement (UA).

Nora Blessner, of Shavertown, serves in a new role as director of advancement services. In concert with UA directors, she directs the execution of UA’s fundraising and friend-raising efforts. Blessner obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Pennsylvania State University.

Mark DiPippa, of Shavertown, joins the development office as leadership gift officer. DiPippa obtained his undergraduate degree from Lock Haven University and his Masters in Educational Administration from The University of Scranton.

Lauren Gorney, of Glen Lyon, joins the division as the assistant director of alumni engagement. Gorney is a communications program alumna.

Jeffrey Kelly, of Pittston, takes on the role of manager of cultural and special events. The Misericordia alumnus holds a bachelor’s degree in professional studies and a master’s degree in organizational management, and is pursuing a second master’s degree in education.

Marie Stolarick, of Nanticoke, is the newly named manager of donor relations. She holds a B.A. in fine arts from Wilkes University, and has numerous published pieces to her credit, including works of creative writing, graphic and fine arts.

Phillip Swank, of Laceyville, serves as manager of foundation relations. Swank holds a bachelor’s degree from King’s College and a Masters in Public Administration from Marywood University, where he also specialized in nonprofit management.

Katherine M. Totino, of Bear Creek Township, serves in the new position of government relations manager. Totino holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from King’s College.

Desiree Voitek, of Luzerne, joins UA as the assistant director of development. She is a 2009 graduate of Penn State University where she majored in English.
