After a beautiful and balmy Christmas day, precipitation makes it way in Northeastern Pennsylvania for the weekend.

As of 7:15 a.m., the National Weather Service indicated it’s overcast and 43 degrees at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

For the rest of today, expect a 60 percent chance of rain and a high of 47. Overnight will bring a 100 percent chance of rain — a quarter to half an inch possible — and a low of 45 degrees.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with showers possible, a high near 60. Sunday night will be calm and colder — a low hovering around the freezing mark.

Monday brings the worst of the precipitation; a chance of sleet in the afternoon hours. Monday’s high will be near 34. Sleet, snow and freezing rain comes to the area Monday night, done before 1 a.m. The low will be around 27.
