KINGSTON TWP. — The Dallas Area Municipal Authority reappointed officers and heard an update about the Overbrook Road Low-Pressure Sewer System at a Thursday meeting.

Under the guidance of Solicitor Benjamin R. Jones III, the six-member DAMA Board approved the following appointments for the 2016 year:

• Craig Tupper as chairman

• John Oliver as vice chairman

• Tim Carroll as secretary

• David Jenkins as assistant secretary

• Brent Snowdown as treasurer

• Kathy Sebastian as assistant treasurer

Following the reorganization, Brent Berger of Quad 3 told the authority members the plan for the installation of Overbrook Road Low-Pressure Sewer System project is progressing.

The project is tentatively slated to start in June 2016, he said.

“There are some challenges,” he said. “There are some big trees we are working around and telephone poles.”

The Overbrook Road LPSS will extend 5,700 feet from the Overbrook Inn to Reservoir Road and Hilco Drive. The project will provide sewer service for 73 homes, Berger said.

Tupper asked Berger what kind of response he received from the residents.

“Many are for the sewer system, but some are against it,” Berger said.

He cited some residential concerns included the disruption of existing landscaping and “some residents believe they own right up to the road.”

The next meeting of the DAMA board will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 in the meeting room at DAMA’s offices.
