Commuters could encounter some scattered areas of traffic congestion on the way into work and school this morning.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstate 81, while scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Interstate 476.

Route 315 is reporting some minor congestion near Laird Street, and minor congestion is also reported on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of traffic congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Downtown, scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and extending onto South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. North Main, North River and South River streets are also reporting scattered areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion.

In Kingston, scattered areas of heavy congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
