Scattered areas of traffic congestion reported this morning

Aside from some scattered areas of traffic congestion, commuters should have a smooth ride into work and school this morning.

Free-flowing traffic is reported Interstate 81 and 476. Route 315 is also free of congestion, but heavy traffic congestion is reported on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of traffic congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, Mundy and Kidder streets are each reporting scattered areas of minor traffic congestion. Minor congestion is also reported on Highland Park Boulevard in the area of the Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace.

Downtown, minor traffic congestion is reported primarily at intersections of Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and onto South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, along with North and South River streets. Some heavy congestion is reported in areas on Hazle, East Market and South Main streets.

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
