Wyoming Valley could see some snow into the weekend

The Wyoming Valley could see some snow into the weekend, but forecasts indicate that it won’t be a major weather event.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 20 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected to stick around today, with a high near 33.

Snow is expected after midnight tonight, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation predicted. Around an inch of snow is possible, and tonight’s low will be around 23.

Snow will continue to be possible before 11 a.m. on Friday, followed by a chance of snow into the afternoon hours. Less than an inch of snow is expected, and the high will be near 37.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 22.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, along with a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 1 p.m. The high will be near 40.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Saturday night, along with a 30 percent chance of snow showers. The low will be around 25.

Mostly sunny skies are expected to round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 43. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Sunday night, with a low around 27.
