Sunny skies and warm temperatures aren’t expected to go anywhere as the Wyoming Valley approaches the midweek.

Some rain, however, is possible near the end of the week.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 42 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly cloudy skies reported.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 66. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 49.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with the high climbing to 68. Mostly cloudy skies are expected to carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 52.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, along with a 20 percent chance of showers. The high will be near 68.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected into Thursday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 45.
