The Wyoming Valley could see some rain today and into tonight, but sunshine and slightly cooler temperatures are expected into the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 60 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly cloudy skies reported.

A chance of showers is possible between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. today, but rain is predicted to become likely after 1 p.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and today’s high will be near 70.

Rain is expected into tonight, with another half an inch of rainfall possible. Tonight’s low will be around 47.

Mostly sunny skies will wrap up the week on Friday, with a high near 55. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 33.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high near 61. Mostly cloudy skies are expected to carry over into Saturday night, with a low around 45.

Mostly cloudy skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The high will be near 60.

Cloudy skies will follow into Sunday night, along with a 60 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 45.
