Cloudy skies and rain are in the forecast for the Wyoming Valley into the midweek.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 42 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light rain reported.

Showers are expected mainly before 3 p.m. today. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain could fall, and today’s high will be near 43.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected into tonight, along with a 30 percent chance of scattered showers before 10 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and tonight’s low will be around 40.

Cloudy skies are predicted for Tuesday, with a high near 58. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 45.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. The high will be near 62.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers before 8 p.m. The low will be around 41.
