Temperatures will cool in the Wyoming Valley as the week progresses, and the area could see some snow on Friday.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 49 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.
Cloudy skies are expected today, with showers and a possible thunderstorm expected after 5 p.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and today’s high will be near 63.
Showers and possibly some thunderstorms will remain likely before 8 p.m. tonight, followed by isolated showers into the overnight hours. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible, and tonight’s low will be around 41.
Partly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, along with scattered showers between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and some thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and Thursday’s high will be near 57.
Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday night, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 36.
Mostly cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with scattered snow showers before 2 p.m. and sprinkles into the evening hours. The high will be near 45.
Partly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a chance of sprinkles before 8 p.m. The low will drop to about 25.
