While rain is expected today, sunny skies are expected for the remainder of the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicate that it was 58 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light rain reported.

Showers are expected before 11 a.m. today, with less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall expected. Today’s high will be near 61.

Partly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, with a low around 32.

Sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high near 54. Clear skies are expected into Saturday night, with a low around 36.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 56. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Sunday night, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 43.
