Some light snow and colder temperatures are expected in the beginning of the week, but the Wyoming Valley should begin to warm back up as the week progresses.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 37 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light snow reported.
Snow is expected to turn entirely into rain today, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation predicted. Less than half an inch of snow is expected, and today’s high will climb to 49.
The chance for rain will carry over into tonight, and there could possibly be a mixture with some snow after 7 p.m. Skies will otherwise gradually clear as the night progresses, and the low will be around 17. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
Sunny skies are expected on Tuesday, with a high near 35. Clear skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 20.
Partly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 48. Winds could also gust as high as 28 miles per hour.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected into Wednesday night, along with rain after 2 a.m. The low will be around 41.
