Aside from some scattered areas of traffic congestion, commuters should have little trouble getting to work and school this morning.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81 and 476. A section of Interstate 81 south will be restricted to single-lane traffic starting at 8:30 a.m. today so crews can repair a hole that opened up in the deck of a bridge.

Isolated areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Route 315, while heavy congestion is reported on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps. Widespread minor traffic congestion is reported on the South Cross Valley Expressway in the southbound lanes.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Kidder, Mundy and Spring streets.

Downtown, scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and onto South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Minor congestion is also reported on Hazle Street, while isolated areas of heavy congestion are reported on East Market Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue.

North and South River streets are each reporting scattered areas of minor traffic congestion, and heavy congestion is reported on the Market Street Bridge.

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
