Areas of minor congestion could add time onto the morning commute

Scattered areas of traffic congestion could add a couple of minutes onto the morning commute.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstate 81, but scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Interstate 476.

Route 315 is reporting scattered areas of minor congestion, while Route 115 is reporting heavy congestion in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of traffic congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps. The South Cross Valley Expressway is reporting minor congestion in the southbound lanes.

Downtown, several streets are reporting minor and heavy traffic congestion. Affected areas include:

• Wilkes-Barre / South Wilkes-Barre boulevards

• Hazle Street

• North / South Main streets

• North / South River streets

• East Northampton Street

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
