A dry forecast is expected for the Wyoming Valley heading into the weekend, but the region could see some rain Thursday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 57 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 80.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, along with a chance of showers into the early-morning hours on Thursday. The low will be around 58.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely before 3 p.m. Thursday, followed by a chance of showers into the afternoon hours. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and the high will be near 77.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday night, with a low around 54.

Sunny skies are expected to round out the week Friday, with a high near 82. Clear skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 57.
