Clear skies are expected in the Wyoming Valley as the weekend approaches, but there will be a chance for rain into Friday night.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 48 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 71. Clouds will increase tonight, and patchy fog will be possible after 1 a.m. The low will be around 46.

Areas of dense fog will be possible before 9 a.m. Thursday — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected. The high will be near 73.

Clear skies will follow into Thursday night, with a low around 48.

Sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, with a high near 72. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Friday night, along with a slight chance of rain. The low will be around 53.
