Cooler temperatures and a chance of rain are expected in the Wyoming Valley this weekend.
The National Weather Service indicated it was 46 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.
Patchy, dense fog is possible before 11 a.m. today — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected. The high will be near 74.
Mostly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, along with a chance of showers into the early-morning hours of Saturday. The low will be around 55.
Showers will be likely between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, and up to half an inch of total rainfall is possible. The high will be near 67.
Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Saturday night, and there will be a 30 percent chance of showers before 7 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is possible, and the low will be around 49.
Mostly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 71. Mostly clear skies will carry over into Sunday night, with a low around 39.
