Rain and cooler temperatures continue today with the wind picking up a bit in the Wyoming Valley before we get a short break from the showers on Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 44 degrees as of 8:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and light rain was reported.

Rain is likely today, mainly before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 48. Northwest wind 14 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Tonight there is a chance of showers, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Northwest wind 15 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 59. West wind 13 to 16 mph.

Sunday night there is a chance of showers, mainly after midnight. Increasing clouds, with a low around 45. Southwest wind tapers off to around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 55. Northwest wind 7 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
